About Kelvin

Kelvin Colour Intelligence ("Kelvin", "we", "us", "our") is an Australian colour analysis service operating at kelvincolour.com.au. Kelvin is a registered business name operating under an Australian Business Number (ABN). We provide AI-powered personal colour analysis to help people identify their colour season and build a wardrobe that harmonises with their natural colouring.

We are subject to the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information in compliance with those obligations.

The information we collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide your colour analysis. Here is exactly what we collect and why:

We do not collect your name unless you provide it voluntarily. We do not collect payment information directly — payments are processed by Stripe, who have their own privacy policy.

What happens to your photo

Here is the exact technical flow when you capture or upload a photo:

• Your photo is white-balance corrected in your browser, then sent directly to a secure intermediary (Cloudflare Worker) that holds our API credentials
• The intermediary passes your photo to Anthropic's AI API (Claude) for colour analysis
• Anthropic processes the photo in memory to generate your colour season result
• The result is returned to your browser
• Your photo is discarded — it is never written to any database or storage system by Kelvin

Anthropic (the AI provider) processes your photo under their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy. Anthropic's API data handling terms state that they do not use API inputs to train their models without consent.

The photo is central to your analysis — it is how Kelvin measures your colouring directly rather than relying on self-assessment alone. If your device has no camera or camera access is unavailable, you can upload an existing photo taken in natural light instead.

What we do with your information

We use your information only for the following purposes:

• To deliver your colour analysis result and full Kelvin Report
• To send you follow-up emails with colour guidance and styling information related to your season
• To improve the accuracy of our colour analysis engine using anonymised aggregate data
• To process payments for paid products (via Stripe)
• To comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising. We do not share your information with any party except as described in this policy.

Emails from Kelvin

When you complete the Kelvin quiz and provide your email address, you will receive a short sequence of emails delivering your colour analysis result and related colour guidance. These emails are sent via MailerLite, our email service provider.

You can unsubscribe from Kelvin emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us directly at the address below. Unsubscribing will remove you from all future email communications from Kelvin.

We comply with the Australian Spam Act 2003. We will not send you unsolicited commercial email.

Services we use

Kelvin uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has their own privacy policy:

All third-party services used by Kelvin are reputable providers with strong data protection practices. We do not use any third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels.

Where your data is stored and how we protect it

Your quiz answers and email address are stored on Netlify's servers, which are located in the United States. Netlify is SOC 2 certified and maintains industry-standard security practices.

Your email address and season result are stored in MailerLite for email delivery purposes. MailerLite's servers are located in the European Union and the United States. MailerLite complies with GDPR.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to us online.

We do not store your photo. See Section 03 for full details of how your photo is handled.

Your rights under Australian Privacy Law

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw consent to receiving marketing communications at any time
• Make a complaint about how we handle your personal information

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address below. We will respond to all requests within 30 days. There is no charge for accessing or correcting your information.

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Use by children

Kelvin is not directed at children under the age of 16, and because the service collects a photograph of your face, we ask that only people aged 16 or over use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

Cookies and tracking

Kelvin uses minimal cookies. Our website may use cookies for basic functionality — such as remembering your quiz progress within a session. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that identify individual users.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. This may affect the functionality of the quiz.

Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of Kelvin after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
